Things You May Not Know About Your Yoni - Understanding the magic and mystery of the Yoni

How well do you really know your Yoni? Not just anatomically, but energetically, emotionally, and sensually?

For so many women, the Yoni remains a mystery — shrouded in shame, silence, and misunderstanding. We’ve been conditioned to view this sacred part of ourselves through a lens of performance, pathology, or embarrassment. But our Yoni is so much more than a body part — it is the portal of life, the seat of our creative energy, and a powerful centre of pleasure and wisdom.

In this blog, we’re diving into truths, tools, and teachings that every woman (and every man who loves women) should know.

Reclaiming the Word “Yoni”

The Sanskrit word Yoni holds a reverence and beauty that words like "vagina" often lack. It's a term used in Tantra to honour the entire feminine sexual and reproductive anatomy — physically, spiritually, and energetically. Unlike clinical or derogatory terms, Yoni speaks to power, divinity, and sacredness.

Language matters. When we change the words we use to describe our bodies, we change the way we relate to them.

Your Pleasure Anatomy: The Truths You Weren’t Taught

Did you know your clitoris isn’t just a little nub — but an expansive network of erectile tissue with over 9,000 nerve endings? That’s more than double the number in a penis. And its only purpose? Pleasure.

The clitoral network extends deep inside the body, wrapping around the vagina and reaching back toward the perineum. This is why internal stimulation often activates clitoral responses — and why even orgasms felt “elsewhere” still involve this beautiful network.

And what about the G-spot and A-spot? These highly sensitive zones — located just inside the Yoni on the front wall — are formed by spongey erectile tissue that swells with arousal. Their full sensitivity is only unlocked once the body is ready. Rushing this process not only decreases pleasure — it can lead to discomfort or even UTIs.

Women Take Longer — And That’s a Gift

Female arousal isn’t linear. It’s slow, cyclical, and deeply relational. While men often become physically aroused in minutes, it can take a woman 20 to 40 minutes to become fully engorged and ready for penetration.

This is not a flaw — it’s a feature.

When we embrace this slower, more sensual approach, we unlock an entirely different kind of pleasure — one that’s deeply rooted in safety, surrender, and connection. Our bodies aren’t built for performance. They’re built for presence.

The 7 Gateways to Pleasure

There is a sacred pathway to opening a woman’s body — one that begins not with genitals, but with energy. These seven gateways include:

  1. Energetic Connection – eye contact, presence, intention
  2. Non-Erogenous Zones – arms, back, scalp, gentle touch
  3. Outer Extremities – feet, hands, ears
  4. Erogenous Zones – neck, spine, inner thighs
  5. Breasts – approached slowly, with reverence
  6. External Yoni – outer lips, clitoral hood
  7. Internal Yoni – only entered when there is full readiness

Moving slowly through these gateways honours the body’s wisdom and builds trust — not only with a partner, but with oneself.

Yoni Mapping & De-Armouring: Healing Through Touch

Many women carry trauma, numbness, or tension in the tissues of the Yoni. This is where powerful practices like Yoni Mapping and De-Armouring come in.

Yoni Mapping helps build neurological connection and sensitivity. Just like the brain has a map of your hands or feet, it can build one for your internal anatomy — bringing clarity and awakening sensation.

De-Armouring involves finding and gently pressing into areas of tension or emotional holding within the vaginal canal. These are often formed from past trauma or shame, and when held with care, can release deeply stored emotion and energy.

These practices are beautiful solo journeys — and also deeply healing when facilitated with the right practitioner or loving partner.

We Are Built for Pleasure

This is perhaps the most important truth of all: your Yoni is designed for pleasure.

Our culture has distorted sexuality into performance, perfection, and pressure. But the truth is, our bodies are wise, beautiful, and sacred. We don’t need to rush. We don’t need to compare. And we certainly don’t need to perform.

When we take time to understand our anatomy, listen to our Yoni, and honour her rhythms, we return to a kind of sovereignty that changes everything — in our bodies, in our relationships, in our sense of worth.

So take your time. Learn your pleasure. Heal your wounds. And remember: your Yoni is a temple — and you are her goddess.
